For Spring Break, March 14th-17th, Doug and I went to Chattanooga. On the way to Chattanooga we drove through Columbia to visit Amy (Randall and Owen). I haven't seen her in three years. We worked together at Leeds. I was so excited to see her. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture. In Chattanooga, we visited Ruby Falls and the Putt Putt Golf/Arcade. We planned to go to the IMAX and Aquarium but the IMAX was sold out and the Aquarium closed at 6pm. Oh well! Nevertheless, this was a nice getaway, especially since we haven't had any time alone since August. Our goal was to relax and just spend some time with each other. This trip pretty much served as our Babymoon. On the way back home we drove through Georgia to have lunch with Peachtree Peeps. I stopped by the school first to v
isit some of my former students then we went to California Pizza Kitchen. They surprised me by bringing gifts for Khalil. It was then that I realized how much I miss Peachtree living in Georgia.
Mom and I went to register at Babies R Us on Friday, March 19th. This took several hours but it was a task that had to be accomplished. I also registered at Target.
I went to my 26 1/2 week doctor's appointment on Monday, March 22nd for the gestational diabetes test. Lo and behold, I failed the test so I have go back next Monday, March 29th to do the three hour test. We are praying that the test is negative next week.
On a more positive note: I went to Terrica's baby shower on Saturday. When I originally got pregnant I wanted my friends to be pregnant with me. So far I am getting my wish. Terrica is about 9 weeks ahead of me - due in April. Cathi is two weeks behind me - due in July. Meagan is 9 weeks behind me - due in August. And Tonya is 20 weeks behind me - due in November. So far we are all having boys (we don't know about Tonya yet). Khalil is going to have so many friends!
This month we have also been working on purchasing a home. We hoped to have this task accomplished by the end of the month. Hopefully we will have a positive update soon.
